I‘tikāf 2025 – A Time for Spiritual Retreat

Date & Time: I‘tikāf will begin on Thursday, 20th March at 6:15 PM. Participants must be inside the mosque by this time.
Location: Hamptons Sports & Leisure and Chelmsford Central Mosque

What is I‘tikāf?

I‘tikāf is a special act of devotion where a person dedicates themselves to worship, reflection, and connection with Allah by staying in the mosque for a set period. It is a time to step away from daily distractions and focus on prayer, reciting the Qur’an, making du‘ā, and strengthening one’s relationship with Allah.
Sunnah I‘tikāf is observed during the last ten days of Ramadan, as practiced by the Prophet ﷺ.
Nafl I‘tikāf is a voluntary retreat that can be for any duration, even for a single night.
